Fantasy Lights, Spanaway Washington

My brother Terry and I busted his wife (my sister-in-law) Kathy out of Manor Care in Tacoma for an evening and went for a ride through Spanaway Park to see the holiday Fantasy Lights. This is a wonderful display of light installations spread out over the entire park and you drive through it.

This was perfect because Kathy is in a long fight back from cancer, chemo, and surgeries and is still not strong enough to get around. I took quite a lot of photos with my iPhone 4s and many of them turned out.

I was a little surprised because it was night time and the lights were bright and moving. I captured a series of four shots with Santa driving a motorcycle over a jump and put this GIF together.

It was a great 2 1/2 mile drive around the park with fun light displays everywhere sponsored by local businesses. Fantasy Lights is the largest drive through light display in the State of Washington. It's only $13 per car and the money goes to good causes. The drive through takes about 1/2 an hour.

If you're anywhere around the South Sound area it's worth the drive and fun for all ages. You'll find bears flying kites, a light tunnel, a big blue space ship with aliens, and dear jumping over over your car. I've got a note in my calendar to remind me next year!
