In Memory of my Grandpa

Renton gets kind of a bad rap at times. It use to be considered the Southend and hokey compared to Seattle. Where a manly man's fashion statement was jeans with a big belt buckle, a flannel shirt, and they drove old Ford pickup trucks.

Now days, Renton is considered the southern tip of the Eastside. We're certainly more sophisticated now and "ahead of the curve" as the city spins it. Yet, our history prevails and on occasion you'll still find a wink and a nod to those earlier times when we were, "out in the boonies."
