The Fremont Rocket

The Fremont Rocket is an actual ICBM missile shell that was modified for the occasion. On the rocket you’ll see the Fremont Neighborhood crest and the motto, “De Libertas Quirkas”, which means “Freedom to be Peculiar.”

For most of my life Fremont has been a haven for our more eccentric populous, creatives, counter culture types, and artists. You’ll find evidence of its personality in several iconic public art installations like Waiting for the Interurban, the Troll under the Bridge, and a statue of Lenin that was rescued from Slovakia in 1989.
